The Design:
N.Spire is based upon an optimal shape for comfort on long rides, while still providing a cut-out that protects riders from nerve damage. The cut-out is created by using varying layers and thicknesses of foam, strategically placed so that when they interact with soft-tissue nerve pressure is relieved. The end result, a saddle that delivers all-day comfort on the harshest of terrains.
The Science:
The N.Spire series was designed by pro MTB, CX racer and Bio-Medical Engineer, Ph.D., Jen Malik. She created one of the most scientifically advanced and anatomically correct saddles on the market. 40 CT scans, multiple pressure mapping studies, finite element modeling and nearly 500 different model variations later a saddle that nearly eliminates all pressure and hotspots was developed. The standards applied to this saddle’s design were so rigorous that they generally are only reserved for medical devices.

The all-new Talladega Carbon Wheels are our go to enduro, trail slaying, southern Appalachia wheels! Featuring a 30mm inner width, asymmetrical disc profile, and easy-to-seat tubeless internal profile. This rim paired to the 601/602 hubs create a super planted, high performance, wheel set that makes us smile every time we drop into our favorite trails!
All of the wheels are laced with double-butted spokes and come with our signature 601/602 hubs. The hubs have 120 points / 3 degrees of engagement, 6-bolt Disc tabs, 32h spoke holes, options of Boost, Non-Boost, and Super-Boost, as well as options of Sram XD, Shimano HG, and Shimano MS drivers.

Smanie DJ/BMX
Big air, Sick style – the DJ/BMX sport saddle uses the same technology developed for the DH saddle, but with steel rails, stealth black graphics. The story behind the design of the DH saddle is one of legend. It was developed specifically to conquer the most demanding World Cup Downhill tracks on the planet. As mountain bike geometry design progresses, saddle design must also keep pace. Our partnership with the UR Team and legendary riders such as Mick and Tracey Hannah has helped us do just that. Smanie DJ/BMX sport saddle: used by Pro downhill and enduro mountain bikers from the NS-Bikes – UR Team and dirt jump rider Alec Eklöw.

The DJ/BMX sport saddle uses the same tried and true design as our DH series saddles, but comes in at a price that won’t break the bank. But, we didn’t skimp on features, the DJ/BMX saddle uses the same high-end microfiber cover as our premium saddles, so you keep money in your pocket and steez on your ride.

Eco-Friendly
It is at Smanie’s core to always be pushing the limits as to what we can do to make our saddles more environmentally friendly. We start by producing all of our products from recycled materials. That includes our covers, foam, bases, rails, and even our packaging.
A shell that is soft, but not too soft
Getting the shell of the saddle just right is crucial; a shell that flexes too much will cause your saddle to wear out prematurely or break, too-stiff, and it will be a very rough ride and cause undesirable pressure issues in some positions. The DH shell uses a modified version of the tried and true GP series shell, which is light enough for a World Tour road race, yet strong enough to win the World Cup DH overall title.
